Deconstructing Reductionism: Is Gestalt the answer?

I read this article with intrigue. The same construct we see is ruining HE. However this article is recommending employing gestalt (big picture mentality) to remedy the problem. But i think this will only add a third layer system which would only exacerbate the problem. I would still prefer slicing open the "Gordian knot", since it is already a big ball of mess. We need to deconstruct the tools n mechanisms we wittingly put in place in higher education that currently is ruining it.

    1. In my opinion, the article is actually highlighting how vision and big picture are diminishing as a result of reductionism. Definitely this has to be remedied regardless of the extent of the damage done.
    2. Whether it is going to become a third layer or not will depend on how vision is introduced back into the system
    3. If we deconstruct, it will usually take a long time to reconstruct, there will be collateral damage no matter how much we try to avoid, and we might never be able to properly reconstruct in the way we want it to be - as there are so many uncontrollable elements
    4. At this point of time, I believe we must acknowledge and nurture the intelligence, leadership, decision making, innovativeness and special qualities in each individuals - so that they can slowly repair from within the system. The system must be organic, and allows for this internal auto repair to function. In a nutshell,
    1. Keep educating, inspiring and empowering each "intelligent being" in the system, and
    2. Keep advocating for the system to be more organic, to lose its rigid procedures- so as to allow this internal healing to work

      First. We have to determine what kind of layer systems that we have. It's moving or diluted.

      2nd so far what kind of system that we designed shown to empowering intelligent being in fitting the gap between new and old. Or practically useful according to time.

      Or maybe beside being visionary. It's better to be self awareness in building the system.. In context to question how we position the self to be more organic. especially in knowledge creation.

The Scientific mind and modern world crisis. (In search of an overall academic philosophy- part 2)

In my previous article , I talked of the absence of an overall, cohesive philosophy for Malaysian academia. This time the focus will be on a particular philosophy permeating academic realm,  pushing out alternative paradigms aggressively. Instead of bringing about cohesion, it divides academia and degrades it into fragmented chaos. Philosophy is not a subject favoured by contemporary scholars. Any discussion bearing any abstract concept  would quickly be labelled "rhetoric" and not worth serious attention. What matters are real 'empirical' hard data.
